With season over, free agents Cabrera, Jaso, Sizemore poised to cash in

ST. PETERSBURG — Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit in two at-bats Sunday before being replaced by Nick Franklin in what was likely the shortstop’s final game as a Ray.

Cabrera is one of three players who officially become free agents after the World Series. The others are designated hitter John Jaso and outfielder Grady Sizemore.

Cabrera signed a one-year, $7.5 million contract in January with the hopes of parlaying that into a multi-year deal. It appears he will accomplish that goal after being one of the Rays’ top producers during the second half of the season. His 15 home runs and .
