Swinging and missing has become somewhat commonplace for the Rays’ Carlos Gomez.
The Dominican right fielder is batting .198 and has 74 strikeouts this season, which is second on the team to only C.J. Cron (93). So, when Gomez struck out swinging in the second inning of the Rays’ 3-0 loss to the Marlins on Wednesday, few heads were turned.
