Triple Play: Rays SS Miller hits batter's eye with long home run

Long gone

SS Brad Miller’s first home run of the spring went a long way. It cleared the center fence at Charlotte Sports Park and bounced off the batter’s eye some 20 feet above the field.

Miller hit 10 home runs in 2014 and 11 last season during his first two full years in the big leagues. The Rays acquired him in a trade with Seattle in hopes of adding a little more pop to the offense.

“Brad Miller smoked the ball,” manager Kevin Cash said. “He hit like 25 balls out in batting practice, as just a side note.
