On November 28th, 2007 the Tampa Bay Rays and Minnesota Twins came together to complete a franchise altering trade in which six players were exchanged. Runner up, AL Rookie of the Year contender, Delmon Young, headlined the package that was sent to Minnesota, while the Rays received a starting shortstop in Jason Bartlett and a possible front-line starting pitcher in Matt Garza.
The Rays have since come as the winner of this trade as both Garza and Bartlett provided three quality years for the Rays, helping them to the postseason twice with Garza throwing the team's first no-httier and also being named the MVP of the 2008 ALCS, while Bartlett was the team MVP for the 2008 season.
