In the bottom of the 8th inning of yesterday’s game with the Atlanta Braves, Wilson Ramos turned on a 97 mph fastball and laced it through the left side of the infield for a run scoring base hit.
That hit extended his hit streak to 16 games, the Rays longest hit streak since James Loney hit in 16 consecutive games during the 2013 season. A few days ago, Ramos surpassed the longest hit streak for a Rays catcher when he breezed past John Flaherty’s mark of 13 games, set back in August of 1999.
