THE GOOD: It was a shaky start for Matt Moore who gave up a double, a double, and then snagged a hard-hit groundball and promptly threw it into center field before retiring an out. Amazingly, he got out of that jam allowing just one run. He then retired 10 in a row before back-to-back 2-out singles in the 4th. He ultimately worked 7 innings and allowed just that 1 run on 7 hits. It wasn’t vintage Moore. He only had 3 strikeouts and had a ton of ground ball outs (11!). Of course, vintage Matt Moore would have struck out 11 and been pulled after 5 innings, so maybe this is better…How good has Mikie Mahtook been in September?
