After parting ways with Tommy Pham and failing to bring back Avisail Garcia, the Tampa Bay Rays are in need of another right-handed hitter with pop to balance out their largely left-handed lineup. There are some intriguing options left in free agency that the Rays could plug into the outfield including Yasiel Puig and Nicholas Castellanos, but the belief is that the Rays will be looking to bring in a player with a bit more versatility.
The rebuilding Detroit Tigers may have the answer in the utility extraordinaire, Niko Goodrum. He may not be the flashy name that fans want to see the club acquire on the heels of a 96 win season, but he could be just what they are looking for and more importantly just what they need.
