Prior to this afternoon’s contest against the Chicago White Sox, the Tampa Bay Rays have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher, Hunter Wood, from Triple-A Durham.
Wood, just narrowly missed out on making the Rays Opening Day roster, as he was one of the last cuts of spring training. Wood was a 29th round selection by the Rays in the 2013 draft and he made his debut during the 2017 season. He pitched in 29 games for the Rays in 2018, starting 8 of those appearances, finishing the year with a 3.73 ERA / 3.70 FIP over 41 innings pitched.
