The Tampa Bay Rays made a concerning roster move before last night’s game as they placed right-handed pitcher, Yonny Chirinos, on the 10-day disabled list with a right forearm strain. In his place, they have recalled left-handed pitcher, Ryan Yarbrough from Triple-A Durham.
Chirinos has been one of the best stories of the Rays 2018 season thus far as he made his first major league roster out of spring training and. after a couple of excellent long relief appearances, was officially named a member of the starting rotation. This opportunity came after the Rays lost their top two pitching prospects (Brent Honeywell and Jose De Leon) to Tommy John surgery.
