Tampa Bay Rays extend contract with Bowling Green through 2020

The Tampa Bay Rays and the Bowling Green Hot Rods have agreed on a contract extension that’ll run through the 2020 season.

The Hot Rods have served as the Rays Single-A team since 2009, when they made the jump from the independent circuit to a major league affiliation.

Fun fact: the Rays new third base coach, Matt Quatraro, was the first manager of the Hot Rods during the 2009 season.

Almost all of the Rays draft picks will go through Bowling Green at some point in their professional career as it their first true test of full season professional baseball.
