Even though Spring Training is underway, the Tampa Bay Rays are still looking for options. They have been seeking a right handed bat for much of the offseason, and had been linked to quite a few players. Even though Logan Morrison was brought back, that need for another bat has not diminished.
The Rays also value defensive flexibility. Brad Miller has seen his primary position change multiple times in the past few months, going from short to first to second. Nick Franklin currently holds the super utility slot on the Rays, and the team is looking to make Tim Beckham into a similar player.
