Tampa-area businessman Ringhaver, 76, killed in U.S. 41 crash with semi

Lance C. Ringhaver, longtime owner of a construction-equipment dealership and Tampa Bay Rays minority owner, was killed Monday night in a crash involving tractor-trailer in Apollo Beach, officials said. He was 76.

Ringhaver, also a former member of the Tampa Port Authority, was driving his 2015 Infinity Q70S south on U.S. 41 that collided with a tractor-trailer that failed to complete a left turn and was blocking the darkened roadway about 8:35 p.m., investigators said. He died at the scene.

The truck driver, 38-year-old Isbel Perez Guzman, of Tampa, was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
