Anyone whose life has been touched by cancer — and sadly most of us have been in some way — knows what a tremendous tole the disease and its aftermath can create. It comes in many forms, and it seems like there are an endless number of ways to support cancer research through fundraisers, donations, or volunteerism.
One such means is through Purple Stride, a national event that takes place in many major cities, that puts on a 5K run or walk to help raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer.
Because of COVID concerns, this year’s Tampa Bay Purple Stride event will be remote — meaning they ask participants to safely complete the walk or run on their own — but they are still short of their $130,000 fundraising goal.
