ST. PETERSBURG — While the Tampa Bay Rays explore Hillsborough County in search of a stadium site, Mayor Rick Kriseman and the city council are getting ready to prepare a proposal to keep the team in their city.
Kriseman is expected to begin a community campaign, perhaps as soon as next week, to help draft a plan to extol the potential benefits for the baseball team to build a new park in the same place, said the mayor’s chief of staff, Kevin King.
“We’re going to do what we have to do to sell ourselves,” King said.
