TORONTO — Steven Souza Jr. took charge of Tuesday’s game with Toronto Blue Jays by hitting a pair of balls that, combined, traveled nearly 500 feet.
The first was one of the longest home runs in Tampa Bay Rays history.
The other was a bunt single.
One produced the first run of the game, and the other led to the last run in the Rays 3-2 victory at Rogers Centre.
The victory extended the Rays’ winning streak to four games and pushed their season record to two games above .500.
Souza hit his first home as a Ray, and it was one of the longest in team and the stadium’s history.
