ST. PETERSBURG — It was after being named the Tampa Bay Rays’ Minor League Pitcher of the Year last season that Blake Snell decided to aspire to bigger things, such as being the best player in all of the minor leagues.
“That was something I was really working hard to do,” Snell said Wednesday during a conference call.
He accomplished that goal with an outstanding season, dominating at three levels to earn Baseball America’s 2015 Minor League Player of the Year honor.
“It just doesn’t seem real right now,” Snell said. “It’s kind of cool to take it all in and just enjoy the moment.
