Snell fans 3 over 1 2/3 innings in ASG debut

WASHINGTON -- It wasn't the way Tampa Bay All-Star Blake Snell wanted his first All-Star Game pitch to go, but the Rays' righty was able to rebound from Willson Contreras' homer to get five outs for the American League on Tuesday night during the 2018 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard.

Snell, a first-time All-Star, allowed a solo homer to Contreras on a 97-mph fastball to open the bottom of the third inning. The blast cut the American League's lead down to 2-1. But Snell settled down after that, pitching around a two-out walk to Paul Goldschmidt to end the frame.
