BOSTON – What a night for Drew Smyly. He threw eight scoreless innings. He allowed one hit. He matched his career-high with 11 strikeouts. He raced into foul territory and took a foul pop away from first baseman Logan Morrison.
He did everything but hit. Might have helped.
The Rays offense arrived in the 10th inning when Kevin Kiermaier homered into the right field seats for the first run of the game and Desmond Jennings doubled home a pair of runs to give the Rays a 3-0 victory Tuesday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
