On Wednesday, the Baltimore Orioles made an announcement that appeared to do good by all of their hourly stadium employees who lost at least fives game's worth of wages during the week of April 27. During that week, civil unrest in the city forced two games to be postponed, another to be played in an empty Camden Yards, and their entire three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays to be relocated to Tropicana Field.
However, we're now learned via Deadspin that the edict only applied to stadium workers on the teams payroll, meaning the many independently contracted employees will not have those wages made up.
