Rays vs. Mariners lineups for Tuesday, looking to bounce back

After an ugly 9-3 loss to the Mariners on Monday that led to the demotion of rookie starter Brendan McKay, the Rays are hoping to bounce back tonight in the second game of the series with the AL West trailing Mariners.

To do so, they likely will need a strong pitching performance from struggling lefty Jalen Beeks, who is slated to work bulk innings behind opener Diego Castillo, the hard-throwing right-hander. The Mariners are starting Matt Wisler as their opener, with lefty Tommy Milone slated for the bulk innings.

The Rays called up lefty reliever Hoby Milner to take McKay’s spot on the roster, and then are expected to call up Austin Pruitt to join the rotation later this week.
