Rays trade Jose Alvarado to Phillies in three team deal, receive 1B Dillon Paulson

Tampa Bay Rays are trading left-handed pitcher Jose Alvarado as part of a three team deal with the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Alvarado is being sent to the Phillies, while the Rays will receive minor league first baseman Dillon Paulson from Los Angeles, as well as a player to be named later. Meanwhile, left-handed pitcher Garrett Cleavinger will be going from the Phillies to the Dodgers to complete the three team deal.

During the 2017 season, Alvarado became just one of three players in franchise history to make the jump from Double-A straight to the big leagues.
