Rays sign pair of lefty pitchers

ST. PETERSBURG — The Rays signed left-handed pitchers Justin Marks and Adam Wilk to minor league contracts with invites to big league spring training.

Marks, 28, has spent seven seasons in the minors, pitching in the Oakland, Kansas City, Texas and Arizona systems. He’s appeared in one major league game, working two innings of relief for the Royals against Minnesota in 2014. Last year, he was 5-9 with a 5.63 ERA in 28 games (19 starts) for the Diamondbacks’ Triple-A team in Reno.

Wilk, 28, is 0-3 with a 6.49 ERA in nine career major league appearances (three starts) with Detroit and the Los Angeles Angels.
