Nick Solak slumped in June and July, but through 16 games in August, he’s been a lot like the hitter he was in the first couple months. He’s batting .350 with a .431 on-base percentage and .600 slugging percentage, and he has as many walks as strikeouts.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (68-54)
Ryan Weber was sharp in Durham’s 3-0 win over Pawtucket. In seven innings, he struck out five and gave up just four hits with no walks. Colin Poche and Ian Gibaut each pitched an inning to finish the game. In the sixth, Brandon Snyder broke the scoreless tie with a two-run home run.
