Hudson Valley’s Kaleo Johnson has emerged as one of the minors’ premier hit-by-pitch stars. In 245 plate appearances (including the postseason), he’s been hit 17 times, or once every 14.4 pate appearances. When Hughie Jennings set the major league record with 51 in 1896, he was hit once every 11.8 plate appearances, so Johnson is going to have to lean into a few more to reach that pace.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (1-1)
