Wander Franco’s OPS in May was down 91 points compared to April, but he still had a great month. He batted .333, walked more than he struck out, and finished strong. In his ongoing hitting streak, he has five extra-base hits, so the power stroke may be back.
Triple-A Durham Bulls (31-22)
Durham was edged by Columbus, 2-1. The Bulls’ offense was shut down for the majority of the game. They had just three hits through the first eight innings, and they struck out 15 times. Jake Smolinski’s solo homer in the ninth accounted for their only run.
