Rays Promote Andriese

As Marc Topkin reported before last night's game, Matt Andriese was scratched from his start with Durham and is on his way back up to the Rays yet again this year. This will be Andriese's fifth stint with the Rays this year. During his time in the majors he has served as a valuable spot starter or a long man out of the pen for Kevin Cash.

Andriese has pitched in 12 games this season for Tampa Bay and he's allowed two runs or less in ten of those appearances. During his time with Durham, Andriese has been used pretty much exclusively as a starter, with the exception of his first outing there this season.
