Rays' Odorizzi feels better; status update on Tuesday

SEATTLE — Right-hander Jake Odorizzi, who left Friday’s start with a left oblique strain, is scheduled to see team doctor Koco Eaton today.

“I felt better (Sunday),” Odorizzi said. “I was able to sleep on it and everything. I felt a good amount better.”

Cash said the team won’t have an update on Odorizzi until Tuesday.

RHP Nathan Karns and RHP Erasmo Ramirez are scheduled to start the first two games of the three-game series against the Angels. Odorizzi is in line for Thursday’s start.

“We got to see where Odo’s at, and we got to see how we line up,” Cash said.
