ST. PETERSBURG — The Rays signed LHP Dana Eveland, RHPs Eddie Gamboa, Jhan Mariñez and Tyler Sturdevant, and 1B Kyle Roller to minor-league contracts with invitations to major-league camp.
The Rays invited 12 players from their minor league system to camp: C Jake DePew, OFs Johnny Field and Dayron Varona, INFs Juniel Querecuto, Daniel Robertson and Patrick Leonard, RHPs Mark Sappington, Jaime Schultz, Ryan Garton, Parker Markel and Neil Wagner and LHP Jonny Venters.
Eveland, 32, spent parts of 10 seasons in the majors. In 2015 he made 10 appearances with the Braves.
Mariñez, 27, has appeared in six major-league games, during stints with the Marlins (2010) and White Sox (2012).
