LF Desmond Jennings was the only player to appear in the first two games, a sign that he feels like his left knee is fine after an offseason of rest.
Jennings doubled in both of his at-bats, giving him three doubles in four at-bats over the two games. He will have the next two games off.
Cash said Jennings will be monitored throughout the regular season once the Rays begin playing half of their games on Tropicana Field’s AstroTurf, a surface that has caused problems with Jennings’ knee.
“We got to be smart,” Cash said. “I don’t think cautious is the right word.
