Rays Notes: Price of one poorly located pitch is costly

NEW YORK — RHP Erasmo Ramirez has bailed the Rays out often during the early part of this season. That’s why it was somewhat stunning to see him give up Brett Gardner’s walk-off home run with two outs in the ninth inning Saturday.

“I did part of my job. But we got two outs. I have to just execute better,” Ramirez said after the 3-2 loss to the Yankees.

Ramirez is 4-1, having won three times in relief and once while making a spot start.

He entered Saturday’s game in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and two outs and got Carlos Beltran to ground to third base.
