NEW YORK — Rays LHP Matt Moore returns to the mound Saturday afternoon for the first time since he was optioned to Triple-A Durham to build up his pitch count and innings count.
“I’m confident with the things that happened in the last month,” Moore said Friday. “I’m ready to go.”
And he will go as long as he is giving the Rays a chance to win.
Unlike Moore’s first stint with the team this season, when he faced a pitch count after returning from Tommy John surgery, he will be permitted to pitch today against the Yankees so long as he is pitching well.
