Rays Notes: It's early, but team's showing a good omen nonetheless

ATLANTA — The Rays reached the quarter pole of the season tied with the Yankees for first place in the AL East, which is not bad for a team with three starting pitchers on the disabled list and a key member of the bullpen who didn’t return until late last week.

“I don’t want to put too much on it, but it means more than being in last place, second place, third place,” manager Kevin Cash said. “It’s a good thing, but I think everybody in here, all the guys know we played well. We’ve showed that we can play consistent baseball.
