CLEVELAND — Rays RHP Alex Colome was confident the work he did during his last bullpen session to correct the flaw in his delivery would lead to a smoother outing Sunday against the Indians.
He was right.
Colome didn’t allow a base runner until Michael Bourn pulled a hard grounder down the first base line that 1B Jake Elmore couldn’t handle. That was the only hit and base runner allowed by Colome in his seven innings during the Rays’ 1-0 loss.
“Really, really competitive day for Colome, especially after last outing,” C Curt Casali said. “For him to completely flush that and come out there and work his butt off.
