ST. PETERSBURG — SS Asdrubal Cabrera crossed home plate while grabbing his right hamstring, then fell to the turf near the on-deck circle during the second inning of Saturday’s 3-0 win against the Astros.
The injury might have looked worse than it actually is, because Cabrera walked to his locker after the game without a limp, and he didn’t have an ice pack strapped to his hamstring.
“I feel better right now,” Cabrera said. “But we’ll have to see how I feel when I wake up Sunday.”
Rays manager Kevin Cash said after the game that the reports from the training staff were good.
