Rays' Moore is healthy, happy with 2016 debut

FORT MYERS — Matt Moore ran into former Rays catcher Ryan Hanigan in the tunnel underneath JetBlue Park after Moore’s two-inning outing Monday against the Red Sox. They joked that it was a better exit for Moore than the last time he pitched at the ballpark.

Moore left that game in the spring of 2014 on a cart after being struck in the mouth by a line drive. He passed the concussion protocol but did have a headache.

Moore fared much better Monday in his spring debut. He allowed a leadoff home run to Mookie Betts then retired the next six batters he faced.
