NEW YORK (AP) -- A minor league player in the Tampa Bay Rays' organization has been suspended 50 games after testing positive for an amphetamine.
The commissioner's office announced Tuesday that infielder/outfielder Coty Blanchard had been penalized.
The 23-year-old Blanchard was hitting .314 with one homer and 18 RBIs for Bowling Green in the Class A Midwest League.
There have been 51 suspensions this year under the minor league drug program.
