OAKLAND -- Despite Diego Castillo's worst outing of the season in the Rays' 5-4 walkoff loss to the A's on Thursday night, manager Kevin Cash said Friday he'd use Castillo again for the third straight day Friday if the opportunity presented it.
“Oh, he will (pitch) if he’s ready,” Cash said before Friday’s game at the Oakland Coliseum. “Yes he will.”
Castillo allowed four runs in the ninth, walking two, and allowing an RBI before yielding a three-run walkoff homer to Matt Chapman.
Over Castillo's last 10 outings spanning 9 1/3 innings, he's allowed 12 runs (nine earned) on 13 hits, seven walks and two hit batters.
