BOSTON — Joey Wendle took a swing in Saturday’s game and felt something wrong in the right wrist that was broken in April and sidelined him into June. It got worse as he tried to play through it on Sunday.
So just as the Rays welcomed Kevin Kiermaier back to action form a left thumb sprain, they lost Wendle, who was put on the 10-day injured list for the third time this season with hopes he’ll be back soon but admittedly not sure.
