The Rays, coming off an electric debut from starting pitcher Brendan McKay on Saturday afternoon, will attempt to take the series from the Rangers on Sunday afternoon. Tampa Bay turns to Blake Snell, the reigning American League Cy Young winner who has struggled to a 5.01 ERA this season.
“I think Blake will continue to attack within the zone, establish that he’s going to throw strikes and then it’ll open up ways for lineups to chase after some of his pitches,” said Rays manager Kevin Cash. "I continue to say his stuff is the same. Blake’s fine. He’s going to get this thing turned around.
