FORT MYERS — Rays manager Kevin Cash said Monday he is not close to setting a batting order for the regular season. That will happen after the team returns from Cuba.
“We’re taking some time to learn some guys right now, and while we’re learning we’ll have some conversations with people and find out if there’s specific comforts,” Cash said. “We can’t appease everybody and put them where they want, but we can get a pretty good sense of where they have some comfort in the lineup.”
Aside from 3B Evan Longoria hitting third, the order will be fluid this season.
