Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash was announced as a finalist for the AL Manager of the Year award and it should be a foregone conclusion that he wins it.
Cash took the Rays to within two games of winning the World Series with the third smallest payroll ($28.3m) in major league baseball. It is a phenomenal achievement when you consider that the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-2 victors over the Rays in the World Series, had a payroll of $108.
