SEATTLE — Manager Kevin Cash joked about showing those TV-touted Tom Emanski instructional videos to the team Saturday, but he wasn't kidding about the need to cut down the mistakes on the basepaths.
Especially after the Rays ran into four outs in Friday's 4-3, 13-inning loss, two that Cash considered most egregious: Daniel Robertson getting picked off first in the 11th, and Joey Wendle doubled off first on a lineout in the 13th.
"Our guys understand that we've got to do some better things, some smarter decision-making on the bases,'' he said. "(Friday) night it showed, it was ugly.
