CHICAGO -- Blake Snell was around the strike zone for much of Tuesday afternoon, walking five hitters. But only one run scored on his watch as the Rays beat the White Sox, 6-5, to earn their first winning streak of the season.
Setting a new career high with 114 pitches, Snell struck out 10 and gave up just one hit in six innings -- a Tyler Saladino ground-rule double in the fifth -- mitigating potential damage from his free passes. He held the White Sox to 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position, working out of jams in the fifth and sixth.
