ST. PETERSBURG – The Rays have had better days at the office.
First, they found out before the game that newly acquired outfielder Tommy Pham will be out for up to four weeks with a hairline fracture in his right foot. Then they suffered through a 3-2, 10 inning loss to the White Sox in front of 16,177 at the Trop in which they fell behind, battled back in the eighth inning then eventually lost on a two out double. It was their major league leading 24th one run loss and they are now 20-24 in one run games.
