The Rays found pitching help right at the trade deadline, making a deal to get reliever Nick Anderson and starter Trevor Richards from the Marlins.
The Rays gave up OF prospect Jesus Sanchez and primary opener Ryne Stanek to get them.
The Rays also traded lefty reliever Adam Kolarek to the Dodgers for minor-league OF Niko Hulsizer and OF prospect Joe McCarthy to the Giants.
Anderson, a 29-year-old rookie, has been racking up strikeouts, with 69 in 43 2/3 innings. He is 2-4, 3.92 in 45 games. Richards is 3-12, 4.50 in 23 games (20 starts) for the Marlins.
