Rays' Forsythe guaranteed $10.25 million in new deal

ST. PETERSBURG — The Rays agreed on contracts with nine of their 10 arbitration-eligible players by Friday’s 1 p.m. deadline.

The lone holdout is pitcher Drew Smyly, who will take the team to arbitration. The Rays are 6-0 in arbitration hearings under Stuart Sternberg’s ownership.

The team also announced a two-year contract plus a team option for 2018 for second baseman Logan Forsythe. The contract is worth $10.25 million.
