Rays' Cabrera tossed for arguing - loses bat and helmet, too (The Associated Press)

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera has been ejected for arguing a called third strike. Some of his equipment has gotten tossed, too.

Cabrera was thrown out by plate umpire Kerwin Danley in the fifth inning of Monday night's game against Toronto. As Cabrera headed toward the dugout, he threw his helmet and bat toward the mound.

While a discussion between Danley and Rays manager Kevin Cash was winding down, crew chief Joe West walked in from his position at third base and picked up the helmet and bat.
