ST. PETERSBURG — This will be a busy week for the Rays’ front office with Friday’s 4 p.m. non-waiver trade deadline looming.
They will field calls from nearly every team. They will call teams.
The talk, obviously, is: Who is available and at what price?
And the deadline likely will pass without the Rays making a move, which is how it is most years — last year being the exception with David Price on the market.
Now, that can change if the wheels fall off this week and they head into Friday’s game close to 10 games behind the division-leading Yankees and fading in the wild-card race.
