TORONTO -- Francisco Liriano and the Blue Jays' bullpen combined for a complete pitching effort on Saturday as Toronto took the second game of their series against Tampa Bay, 4-1.
Liriano pitched five innings of one-run ball with just four hits allowed, but four walks quickly pushed his pitch count up to 99. Following two clean, shutdown innings from Joe Biagini, Joe Smith handled the eighth inning to set up Roberto Osuna's second save of the season after blowing his previous two attempts.
Toronto's win snaps a three-game losing streak, and with a win Sunday, the Blue Jays can avoid setting a new record for the worst April in franchise history.
