The Rays are looking to snap a nine-game, three-season losing streak in Seattle when they take on the Mariners tonight.
Jalen Beeks will be the starter, pitching without an opener, as the Rays need to get additional innings out of him, and manager Kevin Cash believes this might work while reducing his temptation to go to the bullpen as aggressively as he has for past Beeks outings.
Much of the talk pre-game was about the former Mariners on the Rays, most notably catcher Mike Zunino, who was greeted by more than a dozen reporters and TV folks in the clubhouse.
